In an extraordinary display of logistical expertise, Express Global Logistics (EXG) from India has completed a critical operation for Saudi Arabia’s green energy future. This major endeavor involved transporting enormous components essential for an innovative green hydrogen project in the region.
The modules, impressive in both size and weight, each reached dimensions of up to 50 meters and tipped the scales at 250 tonnes. In total, 14 massive units were successfully transported, reaching nearly 1,500 freight tonnes. To achieve this, EXG deployed their cutting-edge Megaload transport technology. Integral to the mission was a fleet composed of advanced Scheuerle modular transporters, which incorporated 48 axle lines and sophisticated power and spacer systems to manage the substantial weight.
Precision played a pivotal role in every stage of transportation. Eight of these giant structures made their journey across the ocean using the roll-on roll-off technique, while the remaining six were transported overland to a jetty, where they were skillfully handled by crawler cranes.
This intricate operation underscored EXG’s unmatched ingenuity and adeptness in navigating logistical challenges. Maintaining balance during maritime transit was of paramount importance, demonstrating the company’s meticulous attention to detail.
To elevate their capabilities, EXG formed a strategic alliance with Italy’s Fagioli in early 2023. This partnership, dubbed the Megaload venture, is set to boost their proficiency in the petrochemical and construction domains, reinforcing EXG’s stronghold in executing monumental logistical projects.
